CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

As part of Lee Engineering's own way of giving back to the society, the company has been involved in a lot of social responsibility and philanthropic activities. These activities have fostered excellent and harmonous relationships with our various host communities, and have recieved several accolades from both local and international bodies in appreciation of our constant and tireless contribution to the developmentmental needs of our host communities and its environs.

Lee Engineering has strong resolve to corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes engendered by our harmonious and supportive relationship with our host communities and governments. At Lee Engineering, we continually take proactive measures to ensure that there is no harm to the people and the environment. Apart from the regular employment opportunities for both skilled and unskilled indigenes, we promote rural empowernment for the people by organizing apprenticeship training programmes for youg school leavers, rural women empowernment by the provision of support grants for farming and artisanship, and industrial training programmes for students of higher institutions. We equally offer awards of scholarships for local indigenes of our host communities, provide support for peace initiatives and programmes, as well as support for socio-cultural and infrastructural development. Some of our social responsibility programmes can be broadly categorised as follows:

 
Sponsorship & Organisation of Apprenticeship Training
Programme
Under this programme, the company has trained well over 100 Nigerians in various technical fields such as Welding and Fabrication, Pipe Fitting technology, Electrical technology, Sandblasting and Painting, Scaffolding, Instrumentation and Controls, and HSE training amongst others. In addition, we have sponsored qualified Nigerians in technical and engineering disciplines overseas to understudy major Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) for special skills acquisition and technology transfer for the development of indigenous capacities in the oil and gas industry in Nigeria.
 
Awards of Scholarships
The company offers scholarship awards to deserving and indigent students for their educational advancement and development. Prior to the setting up of Agbonjagwe Leemon Ikpea Foundation (ALIF) http://www.alikpea-foundation.org by the Chairman/CEO of Lee Engineering, the company has an existing scholarship scheme that has benefited over 40 students from primary to University levels. With the esterblishment of the Foundation on the 17th of November 2012, over 230 Nigerians has benefited and are still benefiting from the foundation scholarship awards. Amongst the 230 Nigerians are 150 students - primary, secondary and tertiary institutions, while the others comprise of widows and those undergoing various skill acquisition training with funds set aside for small business ''starter pack'' for both the widows and those that have completed their skill acquisition training.
 
Infrastructural Developments

Lee Engineering has severally, single-handedly sponsored infrastructural development in Edo State, Delta State and also within the areas of operations. Some of such infrastructural projects include:

  • The construction and commissioning of electrification project in Okpokunoe community of Delta state.
  • Construction of Town Hall in Amukpe in Delta State.
  • Construction of community Guest Houses in Okari and Ogoloma communities in Okrika in Rivers state.
  • Construction of Security Fence at Ekpan primary school in Delta state.
  • Constructed Rural Water project for Ewatto community that was commissioned by the Executive Governor of Edo state, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
  • Sponsored the construction of road in Magodo, Lagos State.
  • Provision of Speed Boats to facilitate marine transportation for Odidi and Kantu communities in the coastal area of Delta state.
 
Industrial Training Programmes
On a regular basis, the company has beeig offering industrial training & internship programmes for students of higher institutions in Nigeria.
